In his early years, he painted paintings of sacred themes. Work A frequent motif in his works is the deformed human silhouette.
"Henryk Cześnik has perfectly mastered (...) the postmodern language of art in his painting. Since the 1980s he has been artistically successful, consistently building his defined and clearly recognizable style. " by Małgorzata Paszylka-Glaza (excerpt from the exhibition catalog)
Cześnik's canvases are like shrouds on which traces of humanity have been painted. Their protagonists are guided by Eros and Tanatos. A ubiquitous motif in the artist's work is transience, the degradation of matter, and therefore of human bodies. This acrimonious biologicality is blunt, but at the same time liberating.
