A replica of El Cida's sword, made in the 20th century as a souvenir for tourists. Straight blade, ground on both sides, with central grooves. Basket partition decorated with perforations and symmetrical curves, typical of historicist Spanish designs. Wire-wrapped hilt, flat, circular head. The sword is unsheathed.El Cid, Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar (1043-1099), was a Castilian knight and military leader whose legendary exploits have inspired numerous depictions, including modern souvenir replicas of his alleged sword.
