A single-shot percussion shotgun made in the mid-19th century, representing a transition between flintlock and percussion hunting weapons. This type of gun was commonly used for hunting small game and birds, where quick and reliable discharge of the charge was needed.The barrel comes from an older flintlock gun, indicating its subsequent adaptation to a percussion system, which was more reliable and effective in the 19th century. The lockplate is richly engraved, but unsigned, which may indicate workshop or individual production. The stock is made of high-quality walnut wood, with a fine dovetail roughening in the grip area.
