Kaskara sword, originating from Sudan, made at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. This type of sword was traditionally used in the Sahel and Sahara region, especially in Sudan and Chad. The blade is straight, double-edged with a double cut along the entire length. Richly decorated hilt, handle and pommel decorated with engraved ornament and wire braid. Kaskaras were popular among warriors and the nobility, often carrying European blades adapted by local artisans.
