Bronze, polychrome casting; height ca. 8.5 cm; width ca. 9 cm; depth ca. 9.5 cm.
Austria-Hungary, Vienna, early 20th century.
Miniature sculpture, composed of 3 separate elements: an armchair, a semi-reclining, wine-drinking woman in a defiant pose, and a dress with ruffles (when raised, the figure can be seen naked). Signature on the back of the armchair back: "NAMGREB" ( read backwards the name "BERGMAN") and the letter "B" inscribed in the drawing of a jug.
The factory enjoyed (especially among gentlemen) success producing - in addition to fairy tale figures, animals and genre scenes - figurines in frivolous, erotic settings.
