Biography
In 1880, he began studying sculpture under L. Marconi in Lviv. He spent the years 1883–1888 at the Kraków School of Fine Arts, studying under F. Cynk, J. Matejko, I. Jabłoński, and W. Łuszczkiewicz, among others. From 1888, he studied at the Munich Academy under A. Wagner. He traveled to Italy and France. Upon his return, he settled in Kraków. He painted, among other things, religious scenes, portraits, and urban landscapes. He was highly regarded as a painter of historic Polish cities, especially Kraków. He most often used watercolors and rarely employed oil painting. He also created posters.
