The painting, created at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries, refers to a well-known work by Raphael Santi (1483-1520) of a double portrait of the Artist with a friend, created in 1518. On the present one, the artist transfers the image of Raphael in a slightly altered form only and inscribes it with an inscription identifying the person. Dating of the work based on the conservator's opinion, drawn up in 2024.
