Mério Ameglio (1897–1970) —an Italian painter, born in San Remo, primarily associated with France and the Montmartre district of Paris. He was a self-taught artist; initially, he painted landscapes and seascapes of the French Riviera, and later primarily views of Paris, city scenes, and landscapes. From 1938 onward, he lived and worked in Montmartre, where he maintained contacts with avant-garde artists, including Pablo Picasso, Jacques Villon, and Gino Severini. His work, rooted in the Post-Impressionist tradition, is characterized by a free, painterly texture and vibrant colors.
