Adam Setkowicz (1879-1945). Educated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow in 1891-1894, under the direction of Teodor Axentowicz in 1897-1898. He painted mostly in watercolors, although his many oil works are known. The artist's favorite subjects were genre scenes of Polish provincial life, hunting expeditions, country estates, sleigh rides, horse-drawn carriages. In his works he clearly referred to the works of Alfred Wierusz Kowalski, Jozef Brandt, or Julian Fałat.
