1924 10-gulden banknote – Free City of Danzig - FRONT PROOF
A single-sided color proof of the obverse with a “SPECIMEN” perforation; the color scheme differs from that of the banknote ultimately approved for issue. A very rare and specialized item—for advanced collections of the Free City of Danzig.
The reverse side is currently being offered in our auction to complete the set.
An attractive piece, confirmed by a high PMG grading—this is the MAX RATING for this banknote, and the only known piece in the registry.
References: as in Miłczak G48—but with different coloration; Pick #53p1
WMG gulden denominations are highly sought-after by collectors and exceptionally prized when in such beautiful condition as the one in this auction. Their printing, commissioned by the Senate of the Free City of Gdańsk, was entrusted to British printing houses. We highly recommend these—they are considered among the most beautiful banknotes.
