Treasury ticket of the Kosciuszko Insurrection 25 zloty 1794, series B and the less common 4-digit numbering: 5528 (definitely rarer than 5-digit).
Natural banknote, with preserved natural "ribbed" handmade paper texture, rarer variant, with a fragment of filigree in the paper in the form of the inscription[PIETER DE VRIES] - the upper fragment of the auxiliary filigree, a handmade paper manufacturer who marked his product with filigree: PIETER DE VRIES & COMP- .
Piece of good presence, in a color scheme that is uncommon today, i.e. in its natural color of the period, a shade of ORANGE, especially visible in its lower part, below the mash line. Nowadays, most of the surviving 25 gold 1794 pieces are found in gray, less often in cream. A banknote of exceptional print quality, however, with a mash, as noted in the description on the slab. Very well visible dry seal, as well as the signatures of the two commissioners P. Grozmani and M. Zakrzewski, each made with a different grade of ink.
A piece unique in terms of the signature of Peter Grozmani, in the vast majority of surviving pieces of this denomination, the signature of this commissioner appears blurred, this is visible in the background of the signature and is related to the use of the so-called "chemistry" at this point. - one of the forms of securing revenue tickets against forgery. The 25 gold 1794 from the auction is one of the few to have a signature without this feature, making it unique.
A beautiful piece, the state of preservation confirmed by a PMG grading note appropriate to its condition.
