Banknote 100 zloty 1940, series C - the rarest series of this denomination.
A great rarity in such condition, most likely the only piece, of this series with such a high note in PMG 66EPQ? The 100 zloty 1940 C-series banknote, in bank condition, is one of the rarest banknotes of the occupation period.
Given that the B series of this denomination was massively counterfeited by the Polish resistance movement during the era, the issuer decided to discontinue further production of 100 zloty 1940 banknotes of this series, and original pieces of ser. B already in circulation were withdrawn from circulation. The next series in issue C, was printed practically in full numerical range and the entire mintage was put into circulation, being in circulation for a very long time, until the issue of the next series. Such a long period of their circulation caused the banknotes of this series to wear out in it and in bank and circulating stocks, they are now practically unheard of.
An attractive piece, confirmed by a high PMG grading note, with an EPQ annotation attesting to the exceptional quality of the paper.
