II RP/PSZnZ Set after Rotmistrz Marian Szendzielarz - 20th Lancers Regiment, 10th Hussars Regiment.

A set of memorabilia of Rotmistrz Marian Szendzielarz, brother of the famous Zygmunt Szendzielarz a.k.a. "Łupaszko" (1910-1951), hero of the Polish anti-communist underground, commander of the 5th Wileńska Brigade of the Home Army, one of the best known Unbroken Soldiers of the so-called "Wyklętych".

Marian Szendzielarz (1902-1964) Born 09.02.1902 in Stryj, Stanislawow province, son of Karol and Euphrosinia Osiecka. From 01.05.1918 to 31.10.1918 served in the 11th company of the 3rd battalion of the Polish Legions (Polonische Wehrmacht). On 01.11.1918 in Lviv, he volunteered to join the 2nd infantry regiment of the Polish Legions, 1st Legion Division. Then on 15.01.1919 he was assigned to the 108th lancer regiment, and in 1920 to the 3rd Horse Rifle Regiment, in which he took part in battles until 1921 and was awarded the Silver Cross of the Order of War Virtuti Militari (for capturing an armored train near Korostyn in 1920 and attacking a Bolshevik outpost). On 15.03.1921 he was released to the reserves with the rank of platoon sergeant for further training. From 1921-1925 he works as a clerk in the temporary Local Government Department in Lviv. On 01.09.1925 he enlisted in the Officers' School for Non-Commissioned Officers in Bydgoszcz and on 15.08.1927 was appointed second lieutenant and enlisted in the 20th Uhlan Regiment with assignment until 1939. From 1927 to 1929 he was a platoon commander. After being promoted to lieutenant on 15.08.1929, he became squadron commander, and on 19.03.1937 he was made rotmaster - as squadron commander. During his service in the 20th Regiment he was, among other things, Deputy Regimental Mobilization Officer and Regimental Quartermaster. After the outbreak of World War II, he and his regiment took part in battles (Warsaw) and was taken prisoner by the Germans. He is imprisoned in Oflag VIIA Murnau. After his release from captivity in 1945, he is assigned to the Second Polish Corps in Italy. From 15.08.1945 to 15.03.1946 he is sent to the Armored Weapons Course in Egypt (Abassija). From 15.07.1946 he is in England with assignment to the 10th Hussar Regiment. From there on 04.08.1947 he arrives in the country. After his return, he is invigilated as an alleged officer of the 6th Division of the Supreme Commander's Staff and brother of Major Zygmunt Szendzielarz "Łupaszka", among other things, within the framework of the case with the cryptonym "UTOPIA" and invigilated by a UB informant with the pseudonym "Olsza" and worked on as "Łupaszka's" brother by a UB informant with the pseudonym "Barbara". He dies on 15.10.1964 in Szczecin and is buried in cemetery section 21A, row 12, grave number 6 in the Central Cemetery in Szczecin, 124A Ku Słońcu Street.
