Sought-after and rare thaler coin of King Stefan Batory.
Variety with dot after TRAN.
Bathory's Nagyban thalers are an interesting coin issue, as they were probably minted in connection with a loan that Báthory took out in his native country. Instead of traditional currency, he was paid coins minted with his royal stamp as King of Poland. Unfortunately, there are currently no documents that could confirm this hypothesis.
