Silver, 27.53 g; nice old patina; collectors' prized historical thaler, associated with the Targowitz Confederation - a conspiracy of rebellious Polish magnates against the reforms of the Four-Year Sejm and the May 3 Constitution; these thalers, were distributed to supporters of the Confederation; despite a planned mintage of 30,000 pieces, only 1,699 pieces were eventually minted.
