Lithuania. 10 Litu 1938 Smetona Defaced at Spindulys mint, Kaunas in 1940. Quantity unknown. When the Soviet Union occupied Lithuania, the occupation authorities ordered the destruction of the litas currency. The paper money were burnt, and the coins were destroyed at the Mint in Kaunas by removing the Lithuanian symbols on obverse and reverse.
