Obverse: three Derby antelopes, the symbol of the issuing bank, with the inscription "BANQUE DES ÉTATS DE L'AFRIQUE CENTRALE" and the year 1976 in the outer ring.
Reverse: the denomination “5 FRANCS” surrounded by a wreath of plant motifs, including millet, cacao, cotton, and coffee.
Aluminum bronze, weight 3 g, diameter 20 mm.
Mintage: 6,000,000 pieces.

The envelope features a Gabonese postage stamp with a face value of 75 francs, depicting a traditional Okouyi mask, postmarked in Libreville on June 13, 1983.
