Lukasz Milak-Kalinowski: Psychotherapy during the creative process is a concept loosely related to a strictly medical activity. Mentally, it consists of penetrating deep into one's own consciousness and imagination to induce reflection on everyday life. Technically, on the other hand, the mere act of pulling a brush over a smooth surface and working on the details of painting is soothing, cutting me off from the dustbin of external stimuli. Breaking away, if only for a moment, from the rushing "current" is a value that is often unconscious, and even if, it is ...underestimated. Accompanying peace, quiet, or background music allows you to breathe, to gain distance. Also important is the opportunity to work through past and present negative experiences, emotions. In my work there are examples highlighting both personal, family and collective, social experiences. However, I do not create under the influence of emotions, or I do so extremely rarely. My memories often carry such an emotional charge that I am almost certain they are a source of inspiration. In a moment I realize that this is not the case; emotions become "meat devoured by imagination." Importantly, the effectiveness of this, let's call it therapy, makes it harder to have a creative crisis.
