Subjective description of the painting:
The city depicted by Lefebvre is said to be no ordinary city. Because there are the statues themselves. There is no normal life there. Someone has turned these people into monuments. Why does an artist make such a static picture where nothing happens? And have you thought about the fact that maybe soon ordinary cities will be like this, that it will be normal? Aren't we slowly striving to become such statues? Eyes on the phone, confined to the house, staring at various equipment that gives entertainment, human relationships disappearing, conversations more often made with fingers than lips and vocal cords... Isn't this the process that will eventually turn us into statues. We won't have to move, talk, react, feel... A frightening vision of the cities of the future according to Lefebvr....

Painting is a raison d'etre, a reason to live and comprehend the universe on a scale discernible to the human eye. His painting is situated on the borderline of archeology and architecture, exploring the anomalous territory of Impossible Figures. Often appearing in his compositions, they symbolize the deceptive reality of the world from a mathematical (geometric perspective), physical (quantum) or religious point of view.
