The presented composition is an early work by Teresa Panasiuk, when the artist created paintings with a clear structure of the painting layer, referring to the matter painting practiced by artists in the 1950s and 1960s. The combination of textural qualities with the clear influence of professors of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, such as Artur Nacht-Samborski and Jan Cybis, opened the way for the painter to define her own artistic language. Taking a traditional motif, i.e. landscape united with sensitivity to color in Teresa Panasiuk's painting resulted in the later unification of compositions. Since the 1970s, the main theme undertaken by Teresa Panasiuk would be precisely the landscape reduced to the horizon line and permeating colors of characteristic intensity, thanks to which the artist's canvases have characteristics close to the current of abstraction or op-art. The seeds of the upcoming stylistic solutions can already be seen in the offered canvas.
