Biography
He was born before World War II and graduated from a clandestine high school at the School of Road and Bridge Construction. During the occupation, he used his talents to contribute to the resistance movement by forging documents. After 1945, he began his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw under the guidance of Tadeusz Kulisiewicz. He left behind approximately 500 works, many of which are in the possession of his family and collectors. In his works, he combined the language of geometry with realistic landscapes. Ryszard Lech’s works exhibit a visual affinity with digital imagery. In 2013, a retrospective exhibition of his work was held at the National Museum in Gdańsk.
