Piotr Naliwajko (Świętochłowice 1960, lives in Chorzów)- painter. In 1984 he graduated from the Faculty of Graphic Arts in Katowice, a branch of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. A year earlier, together with Janusz Szpyt and Leszek Zegalski, he founded "Tercet Nadęty" or Group of Three, with which he exhibited in Poland, as well as abroad, including Germany and the Netherlands. Their manifesto, which appeared at an exhibition at the Salon Sztuki in Cracow, read: "We want to turn painting back to the tracks of simplicity, beauty, truth, authenticity and perfection." He is a very active artist, frequently exhibiting his works, which have gained great success, especially in Germany. He practices thematic painting using solid form by applying simplifications and sharp perspective shortcuts that mimic the movement of a film camera. He usually chooses subjects related to the Christian cultural circle, with the fact that the very free and sometimes provocative interpretation caused protests. Some of his works and the handling of symbols in them indicate the influence of the art of Jacek Malczewski. He most often expresses himself in large formats. One of his recent solo exhibitions (Atlas Sztuki Gallery, 2005) was titled "Only large paintings." He lives in Chorzow.
