Montsfur is an artist collective from Częstochowa, which was founded in 2006 and ended in 2020. The artists do not expose their identity. They claim that Montsfur is "an organism living in the field of art, which feeds on the remnants of the previous era and the products of pop culture." The group's first solo exhibition was held in Katowice in 2007 as part of the "Arterie" festival. The works were presented in the space of an old railroad station. The works of art, which were reflected on sheet metal, were stolen by... thieves. The group created primarily in stencil technique. Monstfur's work often features the motif of factories, railroads, cars and other symbols of the communist period. Despite being artists with an academic background, they put truth and uncompromisingness first - qualities they say distinguish street art, which originated from activities on the edge of the law, from contemporary art. Monstfur created egalitarian art, whose premise was to reach a wide audience while maintaining the power of the message. Monstfur has exhibited work at art fairs in Munich, Berlin, Paris and Stockholm. The group has made murals in Jarocin and Gdansk. It has won numerous awards - including a 2014 Honorable Mention and a 2015 Grand Prix at the Stencil Art Prize in Sydney. The collective's works are currently in the contemporary art collection of the Silesian Museum. Monstfur, together with sculptor Tomasz Górnicki, created the décor for the Ćma restaurant in Warsaw's Hala Koszyki.
