Mirosław Kociński
Graduated from the Faculty of Ceramics and Glass at the State Higher School of Fine Arts (now the E. Geppert Academy of Fine Arts) in Wrocław, 1985. Since 1988, he has been employed at his alma mater, initially at the Department of Painting and Sculpture, and since 1996 at the Department of Ceramics and Glass. He served as associate dean of the Department of Ceramics and Glass at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław from 2002 to 2005 and as dean of that department from 2008 to 2012. In 2014, he was awarded the title of professor.
Numerous awards and distinctions, including First Prize at the 3rd International Ceramics Biennial, Zarautz, Spain, 1996; an honorable mention at the 9th Mino International Ceramics Competition (9th Mino International Ceramics Competition, Japan), Mino, Japan, 2011; the “Meritorious for Polish Culture” honorary badge, awarded by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, 2012.
Works in private, public, and museum collections, including: the National Museum in Wrocław, the Museum of Ceramics in Bolesławiec, and the Museum of Modern Ceramic Art in Gifu, Japan.
