Czech-Swedish painter, printmaker, illustrator, studied pedagogy and art at Prague University, taught at Warsaw's Academy of Fine Arts from 1954-1958. After the Prague Spring in 1968, he emigrated to Sweden and was active as an artist there. He practiced oil painting, made monotypes, painted genre motifs and Warsaw landscapes. A recurring theme in his work was trees, personifying the fate of people and nature.
