He began his studies at the Warsaw School of Decorative Arts and Painting, and continued in 1931-37 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow at the Faculty of Painting and Sculpture in the studios of W. Jarocki, J. Mehoffer, K. Sichulski, S. Filipkiewicz, S. Kamocki and X. Dunikowski.
