Joanna Niedbalowska (born 1975) - a graduate of the High School of Fine Arts in Tarnow and the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow in the studio of Prof. Adam Brincken (diploma with distinction in 2001).
Her artistic sensibility grows out of the tradition of early painting. In her introspective portraits, she evokes the atmosphere of early Renaissance frescoes, weaving in subtle signs of modernity and pop culture, causing these two orders to clash - she creates a tension between spirituality and everyday life.
Participated in group exhibitions (including Tarnow, Nowy Sacz, Cracow, Leszno, Legnica, Tczew, Tychy, Przemyśl, Wadowice, Warsaw) and individual exhibitions (Tarnow, Krasiczyn, Sosnowiec, Jaworzec). In the current 2025, she participated in the 10th Salon of BWA Tarnów - winning second place in the voting for the Audience Award. She also presented the "Lost - Recovered" series during the final concert of the Emanations festival at the K. Penderecki European Music Center in Luslawice.
In addition to her painting practice, she is involved in graphic design and co-runs a creative and advertising agency. She lives and works in Tarnow.
