Runs the MŁYN II Painting Studio in Działdowo. In 2011 he was awarded the medal of Merit to Culture Gloria Artis. In his work he takes up various themes, mainly inspired by nature, but also refers to the work of the great masters.
Jan Andrzej Walasek made his first attempts at abstract painting in the mid-1990s. At first these were drawings, in which the artist searched for forms, signs and compositional arrangements. Over time, he recognized that working on abstraction is the essence of creation, in which the painting process is based on a constant search, aiming at something undefined. - I want these paintings to have power and force, so I use expressive forms, varied textures and strong colors in contrasting combinations, the author adds.
