Acrylic painting on canvas substrate. Dimensions: 25 x 35 cm.
The painting is the work of human hands, made in a single piece by the Artist.
The artist presents a landscape with haystacks inspired by the work of C.Monet. The theme of haystacks is not new in painting: it was taken up by Millet, Gaugin, Pissarro and van Gogh, each in his own way. Monet introduced two innovative elements: a thematic series and a way of seeing light. Using a systematically composed series, we observe the same subject in changing, at different times, light. Monet wants to show the passing of time in his paintings. He wrote "I am working assiduously on a new series but at this time of year the sun changes very quickly and I can't keep up (...). I'm going insanely slow, which leads me to despair, but I'm becoming more and more convinced of the purposefulness of my efforts. I must find what I'm looking for: the fleeting transience of light covering everything and spilling everywhere."
