A collection of books and periodicals, including commercial publications, reference works on antiques, and literary works, primarily in Italian. The collection includes volumes dedicated to art history and collecting, such as the multi-volume series *L'Antiquariato*, which covers European and Italian goldsmithing, silverware, and furniture. It also features specialized texts such as *Manuel de la porcelaine européenne* and two volumes by Marchi on ceramics. The literary section features authors such as Giuseppe Ungaretti (*Vita d’un uomo*), Stéphane Mallarmé, Thomas Mann (*The Magic Mountain*), and Albert Einstein (*Vagabondaggi*). Included is a two-volume edition of Tommaseo’s *Dizionario dei Sinonimi* and Guido Piovene’s *L’America dei volti*, bound in blue cloth. The collection features various types of bindings, including modern paperback, publisher’s cloth, and older volumes in hardcover or decorated paper. No dust jackets were found. On the spine of the volume *Antiquities: Gold and Silverware in Europe from the 16th to the 19th Century*, there is a small white circular adhesive label with illegible text.
The condition of the collection ranges from fair to good. The older volumes, such as Tommaseo’s *Dizionario dei Sinonimi* on the center shelf, show obvious signs of wear, including peeling spines, missing binding elements, and creased corners (photo 1). Many spines show fading from sunlight, dented corners, and general wear from shelving. Browning and occasional foxing are visible along the edges of the text blocks in the paperback volumes. Piovene’s horizontal volume shows scratches and wear along the edges of the blue cloth binding (photo 1). The volumes in the L’Antiquariato series appear to be in better condition, though they do show slight signs of use.
