II RP - Polish Military Motorcycle Registration Plate (Bialystok District)

The board is made of steel sheet, in the form of an arched rectangle, the upper edges rounded. Plaque on both sides, painted black with white identification numbers.
On both sides painted in white paint identification number ( W 24-851 ) in the middle visible red stamp of the manufacturer. The plate used on the front of the Polish Army motorcycles from 1937-1939.A rare unique item. Condition as shown in the photos.
In 1937 an order was announced by the Minister of Communications, Minister of Internal Affairs and Military Affairs to change the license plates for all motor vehicles including the army, the front motorcycle plates were reduced in size and given the format shown in the photo. In the literature and photos of military, troops equipped with military motorcycles, we can see that the letter W appears everywhere and determines the assignment of the plate to the Military Resources of the Polish Army. Thus, it is assigned only to the Military Formations of the Republic.
The marking and combination of digits on the license plate is assigned to specific Provincial areas, the plate being sold belongs to the Bialystok District.
The combination of digits starts with a count of 20,000 ending with 24,999. This number range includes registration numbers of military as well as civilian vehicles.

The front motorcycle license plate was reduced in size and given the format seen in the picture. In literature and military photographs, we can observe that the letter W appears everywhere, marking the plate as assigned to the military resources of the Polish Army. This designation was exclusive to the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland.
The numbering and combination of digits on the registration plate were assigned to specific regional areas. This particular plate belongs to the Białystok district.
