AU/AU. Medalier: Timofey Ivanov (on obverse, ТIМОѲЕЙ • Ï • F •; on reverse, Т • I to the left above the exergue). Diakov 105.3 Ae - R1. The medal was silvered to enhance its appearance — a common historical practice intended to improve visual qualities by applying a silver or gold coating. In this case, the surface was silvered over existing nicks and scratches. It was also subtly darkened (patinated) to accentuate the finer details of the design. Obv.: Half-length portrait of Empress Elizabeth I facing right, crowned with the Imperial crown, wearing a mantle and the sash of the Order of St. Andrew. Inscription around: Б • M • ЕЛИСАВЕТЪ • I • IМПЕРАТ • IСАМОД • ВСЕРОСС (By the Grace of God, Elizabeth I, Empress and Autocrat of All Russia). Below the truncation: ТIМОѲЕЙ • Ï • F • (Executed by Timofey Ivanov). Rev.: Ancient warrior in Roman attire holding a Russian banner and a spear, stepping over an overturned vessel with water pouring out. In the background – a view of Frankfurt and the battlefield, strewn with fallen soldiers, discarded arms, and standards marked FR (monogram of Frederick the Great). Inscription around: ПОБѢДИТЕЛЮ (To the Victor). Below the truncation: НАД Ъ ПРУСАКАМИ / АВГ • 1 •Д • 1759 (Over the Prussians / 1 August 1759). This medal commemorates the Russian victory over Prussian forces at the Battle of Kunersdorf during the Seven Years’ War — one of the most crushing defeats suffered by Frederick the Great. The medal celebrates the triumph of Russian arms and the leadership of Empress Elizabeth I.
