Rubbing and soiling of the binding. Discoloration of the margins. Good condition. 20 engravings rebound on one side on cream paper, each engraving signed from plate: JR [tied monogram]. One of the most famous works in the artist's oeuvre, depicting the types of people characteristic of Warsaw at the beginning of the 20th century - artisans, beggars, peddlers, burghers (Street Joker, Apprentice, From the Shoemaker, Chimney-sweeper, Basket-maker, Old-time peddler, Druggist, Harpist, Gogo, On the bench, Laborer, With a crib, Coal seller, Chimney sweeper, With a cabbage shredder, Nosiwoda, Garbage collector, Woodcutter, Two cummerbunds, Catharine maker, Figure seller). Jozef Rapacki (1871-1929) was a highly regarded and popular painter. Almost all his life associated with Warsaw and Mazovia, he created mainly landscapes of Mazovian villages. In addition to painting and drawing, he also did graphic art - black-and-white and color autolithography. "Album of Street Types" was first published around 1915. In 1926 it was reissued by "Tygodnik Ilustrowany" as a premium for readers.
