Poland - Early 20th Century - Patriotic Badge - Highlander's Head (Podhale, Patriotism, Patriotic Art, Regaining Independence, Highlanders)

Dimensions: 5.5 cm x 3.7 cm
Material: brass
A Polish patriotic pin with the inscription “FOR YOU, POLAND,” made of patinated metal. The pin has a decorative, shield-like shape with a border in the form of the Polish eagle, an openwork top, and a central bust in relief.
A symbolic highlander figure—wearing a wide-brimmed hat and traditional highlander attire—representing the Podhale region and highlander traditions as one of the most recognizable symbols of Polish identity. The slogan “FOR YOU, POLAND” gives the pin a distinct patriotic character, linked to the tradition of independence, social mobilization, and the symbolic representation of Poland as a community.
The object belongs to the tradition of 20th-century Polish patriotic accessories, closely resembling the aesthetics of badges, pins, and national souvenirs that were particularly widespread during the interwar period, as well as in later works drawing on this tradition.
