A hat donut/cocard with legion eagle. Diameter 30mm, eagle 16 x 13mm. The bow made of metallized cord, canvas and amaranth cloth. Steel eagle. The whole attached to two pairs of narrow long and pointed mustache. The insignia was made in the "Austrian" manner, following the pattern of the bollards used in that army. A similar piece, however, with a different eagle and mount can be found in Tomasz Zawistowski, Polish Eagles for Caps in 1900-17, p. 265. Very good condition.
