A rare three groschen coin of Adam Wenceslaus, dated 1597, struck at the highly regarded and sought-after Teschen mint.
The coinage of the Duchy of Teschen from the late 16th century represents an interesting example of the local monetary production of the Silesian Piasts. The three-groschen coins of Adam Wenceslaus followed the design of the extremely popular Polish-Lithuanian three-groschen pieces of the period, while retaining the distinctive character of a ducal issue.
