The thaler of Augustus II the Strong, which was the first vicarage coin of the Polish king. The name comes from the privilege of the Electors of Saxony, who according to it exercised the vicarage in the Saxon district after the death of the Emperor. Coins of various denominations were minted to mark the occasion, most with a beautifully executed depiction of the king pinning a horse.
On the reverse are the initials ILH of Johann Lorenz Holland, mincmaster of the Dresden mint.
Very nice natural luster with a slight gray patina. Sharp, virtually uncirculated relief. Beauty graded NGC AU 55 note.
