War diary of General Juliusz Rommel, in which he describes the battles of the 1st Cavalry Division against Budionny's Horse Army during the Polish-Bolshevik war in 1920. The book presents a close-up view of the realities of the front, the difficult combat conditions, cavalry maneuvers and dramatic clashes in Volhynia and Podolia. Rómmel shows both the heroism of the soldiers and the complexity of command in a dynamic war situation.
