Moritz Zdekauer (MZ Austria) porcelain was produced in Altrohlau (Stara Role), one of the most important centers of porcelain production in the former Austro-Hungarian Empire. The factory operated from 1882 and quickly gained a reputation for its high-quality porcelain body and rich, often hand-painted decorations.
Items marked “MZ Austria” were widely exported, particularly to European and American markets, where they were prized for their elegant forms and precise gilding. The factory’s product range included both tableware sets and decorative pieces in the distinctive, refined style of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
