Inscriptions on the reverse regarding the work’s provenance: “Drawing of Aleksandra/ In pencil/ Lüde-Żmurko/ Property of Józef Żmurko/ The drawing comes from the family’s mementos from Lviv/ this is... a drawing by my wife Aleksandra".
The drawing is mounted in a passe-partout and a carved wooden frame with a glass pane. The back has been covered with a fragment of 20th-century wallpaper featuring folk patterns.
Franciszek Józef Jan Żmurko was born and educated in Lviv, where the drawing of his wife—an actress—originated.
