The artist, born in Kazimierz Dolny, studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow and then Warsaw, and after World War II in Paris at the ÉcoleNationale des Beaux-Arts, lived in the USA from 1967, died in Florida. Memories of his childhood spent among the Jewish community of Kazimierz on the Vistula River were an inspiration for Chaim Goldberg and were among the favorite motifs in his work.
