Signed on back: Anna Fatalna
Visual artist and third-year sculpture student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, working at the intersection of performance, photography, fashion and feminism. Her practice explores shame and desire, as well as hidden forms of pressure and subjugation present in social relations, analyzing the mechanisms of control of the female body, as well as human vanity and the limits to which people are able to go in the name of desire, power and the desire to be noticed. She is particularly close to street art, understood as direct action in a common space - fast, intense and without distance. She is interested in works that do not need to justify their presence and leave behind a tension. She is happiest working in drawing and sculpture, treating them as a starting point for further actions and the core of her daily art practice. (The artist, wanting to get into the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, chose another department, but the admissions committee, seeing the great potential, redirected Anna to the sculpture department, which, as it turned out, was the best choice for realizing creative potential). Currently Anna Fatalna is working on a project built of three two-meter-high figures (human skeletons) that are to form a dance arrangement together.
