The series "These Serious Gentlemen," was commissioned by the Galerie de France in Paris in 1982-1983. This series was dedicated to the characters from The Dead Class (1975), a performance that was already considered a legendary work and enjoyed international acclaim in the mid-1980s. The characters presented here are no longer sketches or drafts in the working stage, but have been portrayed in a more synthetic way, with a clear detachment, but also with humor and elements of satire.
