The six-volume edition of The Divine Comedy with one hundred illustrations by Salvador Dalí was printed in an edition of 3044 pieces. Under the direction of typographer Maestro Giovanni Mardersteig, forty-four pieces were hand-embossed at Officina Bodoni in Verona on "Kaji Torinoko" handmade paper and three thousand pieces were hand-embossed at Stamperia Valdonega in Verona on handmade paper by the Magnani brothers of Pesci. The engravings and plates were executed in Paris under the direction of Maestro Raymond Jacquet on Rives paper. Legatoria Torriani in Milan was responsible for the packaging.
