Made by Dali on the occasion of his admission to the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
He was appointed an associate foreign member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts at the Institut de France. A major retrospective of Dali was inaugurated at the Centre Georges-Pompidou in Paris, as well as an "environnement" that he specially designed for the center.
