The work depicts a landscape viewed from above or from a hill. The foreground is dominated by a monumental, leafless tree with a thick trunk and an elaborate, expressive network of branches. Its dark silhouette stands out sharply against the light background. On the left, more bare trees are visible, along with a dark mass of forest or thicket.
In the distance stretches a mountainous or foothill landscape. Scattered among snow-covered fields and gently sloping hills are small houses, rural buildings, and paths or roads leading through the valley. Further in the distance, darker sections of forest and softly outlined hills are visible. The composition is built on the contrast between black and white, with a clear division between the dark, organic rhythm of the trees and the bright, expansive fields.
The linework is lively, free-flowing, and decorative. The artist does not focus on minute architectural details but rather on the rhythm of the landscape: branches, slopes, roads, and the mass of the forest. The work as a whole has a moody, synthetic, and at the same time highly graphic character.
