Paweł Szadkowski—born in 1957 in Toruń. He graduated from the State School of Fine Arts (now the Władysław Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts). Paweł Szadkowski received his diploma in printmaking, drawing, painting, and sculpture in 1982. His extraordinary, somewhat melancholic work surprises with its meticulous craftsmanship. The metaphorical imagery captured in Szadkowski’s prints invites us into an unexpected world of surrealism, where anything is possible. In this world, everyday, ordinary objects and natural elements take on a new, fresh means of expression. The stories told by the artist are full of emotion, lyricism, and impression. They teach both courage and sensitivity. Their subtle color palette ensures they linger in the memory, and it is difficult to remain indifferent to them.
