Picasso's drawings cover the period from 1950 to 1960, during which he enjoyed watching bullfights.
The title of the series "Toros Y Toreros" was handwritten by Picasso.
Picasso created the cover and illustrations (black and white, sepia and color) using a series of three sketchbooks. The technique used a systematic use of ink with a brush. The drawings were printed at Mourlots Studio, a famous lithographic house that worked with Picasso, as well as other artists such as Matisse and Chagall in Paris.
The series was published with Pablo Picasso's permission in 1961, on the 80th anniversary of his birth.
