Oskar GORZKIEWICZ (b. 1988), Chinatown, 2016

Born in 1988 in Koluszki. Graduate of the Tadeusz Makowski Art School Complex in Łódź. Obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Faculty of Material Technology and Textile Design at the Institute of Textile Architecture, majoring in Design at the Technical University of Lodz. Graduated from the Wladyslaw Strzeminski Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz at the Faculty of Graphic Arts and Painting, majoring in Graphic Design. Diploma in 2014 in the Studio of intaglio techniques of Prof. Krzysztof Wawrzyniak. In 2012 - 2013 he participated in the International Graphic Arts Symposia at the KAUS International Center for Artistic Graphics in Urbino, Italy. In 2013, he held an artist residency at the GEDOK Association in Stuttgart, Germany. After graduation, from 2014 to 2015, he served as an assistant at the Studio of Fundamentals of Workshop Graphics at the Faculty of Graphic Arts and Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź. Then, from 2015 to 2016, he served as an assistant in the Studio of Applied Drawing at the Faculty of Interior Design and Architecture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź. He assisted eight times during the PATA International Summer Courses in Artistic Drawing held from 2014 to 2019 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz. In 2019, he received his PhD in Art at the Community Doctoral Studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz. He currently serves as an assistant in the Studio of Intaglio Techniques led by Dr. Alicja Habisiak-Matczak, Prof. of the Academy of Fine Arts. Participant of many international exhibitions of artistic printmaking in Brazil, China, France, Spain, Japan, Canada, Germany, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, USA and Italy. Author of seven solo exhibitions in Poland and Germany. Winner of many awards in graphic design competitions. Among others, winner of the second prize in the 44th Edition of the Carmen Arozena International Competition, 2016 in Madrid, Spain, and the Tadeusz Kulisiewicz Foundation Honorable Mention, 2017 in Warsaw, Poland.
