The missal is one of the most outstanding examples of Polish illumination from the early Renaissance period. The rich layout consists of stand-alone miniatures (including a full-page miniature depicting the crucifixion of Jesus Christ on page 121v), miniatures in the space of initials (19 miniatures inscribed in the text), decorative multicolored and single-colored initials, as well as ornaments surrounding columns of text.
